APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP

Membership in the Narragansett Gun Club is Open to citizens in good standing of the United States of America. Applicants who:

1.      Are not members of any organization or group having as its purpose or ay one of its purposes, to overthrow by force the Government of the United States or any of its political subdivisions.

2.      Have never been convicted of a crime of violence.

And:

3.      If admitted to membership will fulfill the obligations of both good citizenship and good sportsmanship.

4.      If admitted to membership, agree to all rules and regulations promulgated by the Executive board and general membership.

5.      If admitted to membership, will support all club endeavors to the best of their ability and expertise.

In addition, the clubs bylaws provide, in part, that new applicants for regular membership shall be sponsored, in writing, by a regular member in good standing, submit a current BCI and shall receive a two thirds majority approval from the club's Executive Committee prior to their application being submitted to the full membership for consideration. The Applicant shall not be present during the membership vote. A two-thirds majority vote by the membership will be required for final approval.

All members are required to assist in scheduled work parties or pay an additional assessment on their annual dues.

All Members are required to attend any two scheduled meetings a year.

Failure to comply with the above two items will result in forfeiture of club membership. Certain exemptions are allowed.

Applications should be submitted by mail to the Narragansett Gun Club Membership Committee, to any club officer, or to the person on the skeet or trap desk.

NOTE:
You must secure a member or E-Board  member recommendation for your application to be processed.
You must secure a Current BCI submitted with this application. Your application will be processed at the next scheduled club meeting (excluding April). Your name will be published in the next club newsletter. You will be a probationary member for three months. If derogatory information or conduct is brought to the attention of the E-Board, and the E-Board warrants action, your membership will be revoked and membership fee returned.
If no derogatory information or conduct noted within this period you will become a vested member.
