Due to the recent spike in Covid 19 cases throughout our state, is has become very difficult to follow the State of Rhode Island protocol. As you know, the governor has reduced the limit allowed in social gatherings to 10 people. This poses an issue within our buildings as the weather gets colder. As an executive board, our main objective is to keep our club open for all disciplines of shooting. We have decided to close down all of our "warm up" shacks and the main clubhouse until further notice. The inspectors from the state have already approached some of the gun clubs to make sure there are no gatherings taking place. We will set up our skeet and trap desks in front of the sliding windows and all ticket business will be done on our back deck. Coffee, soda and water will no longer be served inside our buildings so please plan accordingly. These decisions were made as a board and have not been taken lightly. However, the alternative could be another state mandated shut down. I am asking for everyone's understanding during these times and please comply with our decisions effective immediately. We still need to wear masks at all times except when shooting and stand 6 feet apart at all times. There are no exceptions to these mandates. Respectfully, Tom Hetherman NGC President |
